So, I just listened to your episode on this.  I don't have much for frogs in my area, but I do have a ton of toads.  Can I gig toads or not?  Are they edible?

Toads might be edible but really not enough meat for anything in my opinion.  I know they excrete some nasty stuff from their skin.  On second thought, probably not edible.

Went frog gigging the other night.  All we ended up doing was emptying beer cans. Not an easy sport.

Frog gigging is an experience which I largely took for granted until I moved back to civilization after a long hiatus in backwoods Florida. Though I’ve heard the term used in a derogatory or negative fashion, most frog gigging aficionados I’ve known have borne the moniker of redneck with pride.
