I've been listing for a while to the "show" (which is great) and have been thinking its time to post.  I live on the central coast of california, 93923, and we have a great resource and very easy basic technique for meat fishing.  The resource is the intertidal zone on the coast which houses may species of ground or rock fish. I'm going out this afternoon to try my luck.  Usually I come home with food.  Last time that I went, it was after work, and literally only 15min from parking to back in truck with a 26" "Monkey faced Eel".  The reason this is of interest, is not only the quantity and quality of fish, but of the minimal equipment and time needed.  It is also only done with certain tides. I know I'm not giving much info, and since I'm at lunch, I don't have time for a in-depth review.

I have never lived in a coastal area.  That's my one regret is the fresh seafood.  We have waters with bass and trout around here and that's about it.

That is an awesome resource.  I too do not live by the coast (KS), but I look forward to a more detailed review if you are so inclined.

Man when I lived in FL we spent all of our free time fishing for snook, snapper and casting bets for mullet.

Now I'm relegated to freshwater. I'm going fishing for crappie this weekend. Talk about good eatin!
